Student Posters


College and university students are invited to showcase energy focused research, capstone, and community projects as poster presentations during the 2018 State Energy Conference of North Carolina.

Posters will be selected for display at the conference based on overall quality and relevance to the conference theme. Poster topics should be related energy technology, policy, and/or finance within the six conference tracks:

  • Residential Homes
  • Commercial & Industrial Energy Use
  • Governmental & Institutional Buildings
  • Utilities & Infrastructure
  • Research & Innovation
  • Renewable Energy

Submission Process

Complete and submit the Student Poster Submission Form by March 16, 2018. If your poster is selected, you will receive a confirmation via email by March 28.

Conference Registration

Student posters may be submitted with reference to multiple "authors." At least one individual should register for the conference as the presenter. The person listed as the presenter for your poster will receive a complimentary registration to the State Energy Conference. Only one presenter per poster will be given a complimentary registration. Co-presenters who will attend the conference may register at the student rate of $49.

Poster Presentation & Judging

Poster presenters will be expected to bring their posters (48" wide X 36" high) to the McKimmon Center on Monday, April 16 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. No posters will be accepted after 6:00 pm on Monday, April 16.

Posters will be displayed throughout the day. A designated presentation period will take place so the poster presenters can meet with conference attendees. Student(s) who will be presenting the poster should stand with with their posters from 3:00 - 4:00 pm on Tuesday April 17.
